Delete your Postcards account

Delete from inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is from the app itself. Your account is hidden and signed out right away, then permanently deleted after 30 days. If you change your mind, sign back in within those 30 days to cancel and keep everything.

1. Open Postcards on your phone.
2. Tap the You tab in the bottom bar.
3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
4. Enter the code we text you to confirm it is you.

You will be signed out as soon as you confirm.

Delete by email

If you cannot sign in, or you would prefer that we handle the request for you, email team@joinpostcards.com from the address on your account, or include the phone number you signed up with so we can verify it is you. We respond within five business days and complete deletion within thirty days of the verified request.

What is deleted

When you delete your account, we permanently remove:

• Your profile: display name, profile photo, birthday, gender, timezone, and the answers you gave during onboarding.
• The postcards you have sent and the postcards sent to you.
• Your chats and chat messages.
• The photos you have sent.
• Your connections and any pending invites you sent.
• Your push notification tokens and notification preferences.
• Your authentication record, including the phone number on file.

What is kept

We keep a minimal record only where the law requires it or to protect the integrity of the service:

• Limited safety records when an account has been the subject of a report or block, kept only as long as needed to enforce our terms.
• Aggregated, non-identifying logs used to monitor service health. These cannot be linked back to you.

We do not keep your postcards, chat messages, photos, or profile after the deletion window described below.

Timing

When you confirm deletion, your account is deactivated right away: you are signed out and hidden from everyone, but nothing is erased yet. Signing back in within 30 days cancels the deletion and restores your account, chats, and connections intact. If you do not, all of your data, postcards, chats, photos, and backups, is permanently deleted within 30 days. Backups are rotated on the same window so no copy survives past it.
